The jacking systems for platforms and ships. Jacking is the process of lifting a platform or ship, which is controlled by gearboxes powered by special motors. Siemens supplies the control/automation systems and motors, with an average of three systems delivered per year. Siemens suddenly received 34 orders, which required a different approach and execution. The scope was to ensure the outsourcing of 34 jacking systems (over 900 system cabinets in total). This required re-establishing the detail engineering and implementing improvements in the panel construction of the system cabinets. Siemens designed special cabinets for this purpose (EMC version). Support was provided to the panel builder up to and including FAT.
